Interpretation
Interpreting involves listening and understanding the original
Depending on the kind of meeting and the number of participants we advise you on the type of interpretation best suited to your purposes:
- Simultaneous: speakers are interpreted directly into one or several languages and listeners hear the translation through headphones, whilst the interpreters work in sound-proofed booths.
Simultaneous interpretation is particularly suitable for conferences and congresses, press briefings or conventions. - Consecutive: the speaker delivers a speech pausing for the interpreter who takes notes and translates.
Consecutive interpretation is used in meetings with a limited number of participants or in working groups. - Whispering: in the event that there are no more than two persons requiring interpretation, the interpreter will be seated beside them and whisper the interpretation.

José Ortega y Gasset, Grandezza e miserie della traduzione
